Josh was in Switzerland at his Amin conference while I did my uber shopping in London town. He met me there a few days later. We stayed at Number 16 in South Kensington. It is one of the Kit Kemp designed hotels. Very lovely and adorable garden for breakfast.
Liberty was my favorite dept store. Always loved their fabrics and design. Harvey Nichols, second.
I headed to the Tate Modern and saw a really great show by Ellen Gallagher.
We walked Kensignton Gardens. Serpentine Gallery a favorite. Pavillion by Sou Fugimoto. Lady Di’s fountain also a favorite.
We strolled by Buckingham Palace. No Royals around.
A few British icons were everywhere. The telephone booth.
Fish and chips.
The irreverent queen.
Big Ben or as they call it now, The Queens Tower. (after Queen Elizabeth II)
We Tubed and walked a lot in the East End, which is Shoreditch and Bethal Green. The best shops and graffiti in town.
Polka dot shoes were purchased.
Some bunny hats, as well.
Along with my favorite Queen bag.
Graffiti abounds.
We were gifted tickets to Wimbledon for the 3rd round and saw a great match. Plus strawberries and cream. Very cool experience. Check out the proper Englishman.
We took a bike tour through Fat Tire Bike Tours and had a nice, yet wet, ride around the Thames. Saw the London Eye, road over the Tower Bridge. And through Diagon Alley from Harry Potter. Lunch stop at Burrough Market. Ending near the Gerkin.
London Eye or Millenium Wheel.
Diagon Alley
Burrough Market
The Gerkin.
We even saw Harry Potter, but playing the Role of Cripple Billy in the play The Cripple of Inishman. Great play.
Three words for London.
