I had heard of a house boat you could rent on Henderson swamp. We were looking for a place to go that was close to New Orleans. We wanted to get away from the Mardi Gras craziness. It was a floating camp. No electricity, but there was a generator for the ac or the telly. No fridge. Food in ice chests with ice provided daily. This was a very unique, fun trip. Highly recommended.
This is where we started.
We had a boat push us out to our spot. In the middle of nowhere.
Here is our swing. I spent many mornings sipping coffee and watching my fisher people and the rain.
Josh getting the rods ready.
We’re all in.
Mose is trying something from his tackle box, to no avail. No fish were caught. Weather not favorable.
Mj daydreams.
Mathilda and Josh try the open water for fish. A skiff was provided for thrill seekers.
Great family trip. Very relaxing. Poker, bananagrams, burgers and a genny for the old time TV with the bunny ears.
