This bathroom had pink marble everywhere. For a teenage boy that was just not good chi. So we set out to give him something more neutral and a little bit masculine but with a mix of materials. Some personality was needed for this boy, who has some major charm. We gutted this bathroom. Before and afters follow.
The pinkness here.
They color palette we picked is neutral. We mixed the Carrara Hex marble tile on one wall in the shower, with the porcelian wall tile throughout. And continued the porcelain on the floor, but in a darker shade (that matches the shower tile shade). It is Eramosa gray tile from Floor and Decor. Simple, classic look but with some pizzaz and touches of whimsy.
The Spring wall sconce from Flos is my “whimsy” fav and a definite character builder to this room. Towels from Anthropologie.
This vanity did not win the storage war that is a teenage boy. As pictured here.
We had the new vanity custom built with lots of storage for all the boy toys. Floating shelves were custom made with the left over quartz we used on the vanity counter. Vanity accessories from West Elm. As well as the Floating Round Wood Mirror.
Duravit’s 2nd Floor Counter Sink from Allmodern gives ample space for counter top functions. I love the mix of patterns and lines, but they all blend so well together.
This weird built-in vanity served no purpose here.
The freestanding tub and drain were reworked into this space on the opposite side of room. Great for long soaks after tennis matches. The Concord standing tub filler with a spray for easy clean up. This tub makes a statement in this room. West Elm wood side table keeps bath necessities at hands reach, and stool keeps dry towels at the ready. Awesome reno for an awesome kid.
