The annual AMIN conference was set in southern Spain this year. And so yeah, Spain! Of course, we decided to make the trip to Marbella. The beach in Marbella, the tufted umbrellas provided cover for the amazing view.
Mose and I enjoyed an ice cream run and a walk on the boardwalk in Marbella.
There was a planned scavenger hunt in the old city. It was a fun activity and we got to see a lot of the town.
An old gaudiesque building in the old city of Marbella.
Eighteen is the legal drinking age in Spain, so MJ did partake in the wine offering.
Great old church was part of the hunt.
Ice cream stop not included but necessary.
Mallorca bound. After the conference, we boarded a plane to the island of Mallorca. Mural in the town of Soller.
The house we rented in the old town of Pollenca was booked through www.boutique-homes.com It was amazing. Very modern, but a perfect mix of the old buildings charming rustic details, wood beams, stone walls and the new clean lined furniture and fixtures. Big enough for all of us and the pool was divine. I just wish the house had had a view to the lovely old town.
View to the pool from the master bathroom. MJ reading by the pool.
Glass floor view.

We started out the first day to Cala Formentor beach. With a stunning backdrop of pine forest and views to the mountains, it was the perfect first day spot with pine trees on the shore for shade and a short walk to lunch spots.
Mose took a moment to catch up on some sleep.
We loved the town of Pollenca. We settled in and had a day of walking the streets and doing some shopping.
The Sunday market had us oohing and ahhing.
Heading back with our loot of cheese, cherries and meats.
The old town views.
Love the colors.
Mose being silly at the little creperie we frequented.
We went on many adventures on this trip. This day we drove over to the little town of Soller. We took the tram to the beachside.
View from Soller beach, which to our delight was full of seaglass.
Mose and my favorite beach treasure to find. It was everywhere!
Every morning Josh and I would head out to get some coffee in the oldest coffee shop in town, right on the square.
And then hike up the 365 steps to the Calvery Chapel. It was a great start to our day.
The Calvery Chapel. On Good Friday, there is a reenactment of the Stations of the cross. This is followed by a mock crucifixion on top of the hill after which the figure of Christ is ceremonially removed from the Cross.
Beautiful inside, Josh lights a candle for those we miss.
Next to the chapel is a cute cafe for refreshments and an array of feline mascots. This one called Mimsy, reminded us of our own Sia at home.
The kids made the hike with us one day. Here we are, making our way down.
On our last day, we set out to Sa Colabra. A hike in the car, windy, hilly, crazy drive. Beautiful views. accessible by a single winding road, which features many hairpin bends and a spiral bridge.
At the site, the view to the beach.
There are two separate beaches in this cove. You walk through a narrow tunnel (well-lit) from which you will emerge on to the main Sa Calobra/Torrent de Pareis beach. It is a pebbly gorge basically, but so beautiful and unique.
The small beach between the gorge for swimming.
On the other end is a smaller quiet beach where Mose did some net fishing.
As usual, Mathilda found a horse back beach ride. Here she is with Pirate. It was a ball. Love this island so much. It is on our “I could live here” list. So good.
