Josh and I took the opportunity of having the kids at camp to enjoy a little r and r in Belize. Ambergris Caye, Belize. At the tiny resort called Matachica. It was an awesome time with beach walks, fishing, snorkeling, kayaking to the reef, rain breaks from the sun, riding bikes on the beach to town, exploring San Pedro and great, glorious food. Loved the native Belize people.
This is our casita, Pineapple. Sweet.
The Buddha that watched over us.
The pier in front of Matachica. Josh caught a few grunts and snapper from this pier.
The hammock on the front porch of Pineapple. All the casitas were named for fruit and painted accordingly. The hammocks were dyed to match. Ahhhhh.
A sign in the town of San Pedro.
Josh checking out the morning beach conditions.
Charlie took us out fishing and snorkeling. True native.
Josh caught a bunch of fish, including this grouper.
I caught this yellow tail and would have had a bigger one if not for the barracuda that ate most of it as I reeled it in.
The Mambo boat from Matachica.
The fish we caught served up Belize style.
Josh on the beach ready for kayaking to the reef.
